A rain soaked, lightening delayed (for 1hour)and scoreless 1st half gave way to a 4-0 Red Devil win in the 2nd half. The Emerald field was borderline unplayable at best during a 1st half due to constant heavy rain. Multiple lightening strikes put a halt to the half for an hour. The ladies came out to finish the half the way it started. However, with the rain gone the Clinton girls did what they’ve been doing for the 1st 8 games. They dominated on the defensive side, led by another MVP performance by Emily Guzman. Then the offense stepped up the game and posted 4 quick scores. Starting off with a shot from the left side by Morgan Benson. The next two goals came from Lauren Wargo- one as a PK after M. Benson was fouled in the box and the next off a shot down the middle. The last score came from a solid outside shot by Reese Gowan. L. Wargo took home offensive player of the game and E. Guzman for Defense. The Devils host Union this Friday for their next region match.
