On Wednesday night, the Clinton Boys Soccer team hosted South Pointe at Martin Stadium at PC. The game started slow, with both teams feeling each other out, and the first half ended scoreless, as neither team had many legitimate scoring opportunities. In the 72nd minute, South Pointe finally broke through with a goal on a curling far-post shot. The Red Devils pressed hard in the final 8 minutes, creating multiple chances to score, but were unable to put the ball in the net. Eventually the Stallions got behind the high-pressing Clinton defense and added the back-breaking second goal in the stoppage time to put the game away. Clinton returns to action tomorrow at Dixie.
