The Laurens County touchdown Club is proud to announce that for the week of November 6, the Player of the Week is Clinton High School’s Bryson James.
Bryson is a sophomore for the Clinton Red Devils and plays both ways on offense and defense as a running back/linebacker and also plays on special teams.
The Clinton Red Devils concluded their 2020 football season this past Friday night. The Devils finished strong as they defeated Strom Thurmond by a score of 38–6 at Wilder Stadium.
Playing OLB, RB, and on special teams for the Red Devils, Bryson does it all. He is very tenacious on defense and refuses to get blocked! He has an unstoppable motor. Simply put, Bryson James is a force to be reckoned with on defense! Bryson recorded 47 points on the Red Devil Headhunter chart. He had 4 Tackles, 1 Tackle for Loss, 4 QB hurries, 2 sacks, 1 caused fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 1 defensive TD and 1 Pass Break Up. He even led all rushers with 1 run for 77 yards. Coach Fountain says, “Bryson is a pleasure to coach, and I look forward to seeing him make even more big plays in the future.”
Bryson James’s play on the field for the Red Devils this year is one of many reasons why Red Devil football fans are excited about 2021.
The Laurens County Touchdown Club will honor Bryson at the Touchdown Club meeting on Nov 19, at which time it will be College Football Day. Coach Tommy Spangler of Presbyterian College will be speaking, as well as Conner Shaw from the University of South Carolina, and Al Richard from Clemson University.
