Last week, Booster Club President Buddy Bridges announced that the annual golf tournament has been cancelled due to the impact of Corona virus.
Tournament Director, Austin Johnson explained, “After much consideration and discussion with Buddy Bridges and Musgrove Mill Golf Club, we have collectively decided to cancel this year’s CHS’ Booster Club Golf Tournament. It’s just not feasible to have the tournament due to the red tape that golf courses are having to navigate through during this pandemic combined with the social distancing requirements that I hope all of us are continuing to follow. It’s my recommendation to not try to reschedule this event due to the unknowns regarding the start of the school year along with the unknowns of the 2020-2021 sports calendar. With that said, hopefully in July of 2021 we can host the biggest and best golf tournament that we’ve had to date.”
The golf tournament is the Booster Club’s largest fundraiser, and the officers are hoping to host some type of fundraiser in the fall to offset the budget deficit this cancellation will create.
